Poetry of The Week: Sekali kita takut, kita akan terbunuh berkali-kali…

Sekali kita takut, kita akan terbunuh berkali-kali…” — Abraham Lincoln

Apa yang kau takutkan?

Dunia besar dalam dirimu sendiri
……… betapapun kau memandangnya kecil

Dunia berubah sama seperti kau yang berubah
Dunia yang diam sama seperti kau yang diam

Kau yang berbicara sama seperti dunia yang berbicara
Kau yang mati sama seperti dunia yang mati

Dirimu dalam dunia yang kecil
……….. betapapun kau memandangnya besar

Apa yang ditakutkan?

Overthrowing the tyranny of fright,
protecting dreams with every might,
preserving courage to live it right,
along the road that is never straight,
my sighing heart is not only pledging plight.

I’ve fought a good fight.
I’ve fought a good fight!
For the sun that will shine my night.
For the gloomy days that will turn to be bright.
For much happiness, I’ll end every blight.

Singing for the misthought and nought,
sailing under the moonlight and twilight.
O, you all, companions of my long flight!
That distant land now comes into my sight.
This delighted soul is now relightened.
